Using PS4 and DualShock Controllers on PC With DS4Windows
DS4Windows is an input mapper, virtual emulator and controller customizer that lets you play many games on your Windows PC that don’t natively support PS4 or DualShock controllers. This portable software is available for free and constantly updated to give you an immersive gaming experience.
Since it’s a portable program, you can’t delete it using the uninstall option in Control Panel. But there are other ways to remove it from your system.
DualShock 4
The DualShock 4 is a great gaming controller that has many features not found on other console controllers. For example, it has a light bar that glows with different colors depending on what is happening in the game and a USB port to charge the internal battery. It also has refined analog sticks and triggers and a more sensitive motion sensor. It’s a great controller that can be used on PC with DS4Windows, a free program that lets you use PS4 controllers on your computer.
To start using your DS4 on PC, plug it in and turn it on. Then open up the Settings menu and press and hold the PlayStation button and the Share button simultaneously. This will put your controller into pairing mode. Once it is paired, you can play any game that supports Xinput on your PC with your DualShock 4. Some games work better with a controller than others and some gamers are more comfortable playing with a controller.
DualShock 3
The DualShock 3 is Sony’s third-generation wireless controller for the PlayStation 3. It features a built-in battery and is compatible with the PS3 via USB. The DualShock 3 is a bit heavier than its predecessor, the Sixaxis, and has a dedicated rumble motor for force feedback in games that support it.
When plugged into a PC, the controller communicates with the computer through a mini-USB port and uses the same Bluetooth protocol used by the Xbox 360 controller. It can also draw power from a USB charger, but only when the battery is low.
As long as a special driver is installed, the DualShock 3 should work in any game that supports Xinput. The go-to solution has been ScpToolkit, which can be a bit complicated to set up, but the author of the tool recently announced DsHidMini, a new release that should be much easier to get running. It’s not clear whether it will offer the same functionality as ScpToolkit, though.
DualShock 2
The DualShock 2 is a wired gaming controller that was first released with the PlayStation 2. It works well in games that are designed to work with it. It can also be used on a PC. Various software can be used to make this work, and it is very popular among the PC gaming community.
Unlike the Sixaxis controller, which is connected to the console through a proprietary USB cable, the DualShock 2 uses a standard mini-B connector that can be connected to any USB-compatible device. This makes it easier to use with third-party accessories. The controller has two motors that provide vibration capability. It can detect 256 levels of pressure, and its analog sticks are stiffer than those on the original Dual Analog controller.
The DualShock 2 is a great choice for playing PS4 games. It can be purchased at most electronics stores and online. It is available in several colors, including black, satin silver, ceramic white, slate grey, ocean blue, and emerald green.
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo doesn’t use a lot of processing power in its consoles. It simply sends a video signal to the television, which does all of the heavy lifting. This allows the Switch to have a very long battery life and do things its competitors can’t.
The DS4WIN program is an input mapper that lets you connect and configure controllers such as the DualShock 3 and 4, PS5 DualSense, Joycon and replica (fake) controllers. It can also re-customize keyboard keys and mouse buttons, as well as rumble/vibration and motion sensors.
This software is free and can be used with a wired or wireless Bluetooth connection. It is similar to the Input Mapper and ScpToolkit frameworks, but has a more user-friendly interface. It also has less input lag than the other two. Users should note that the program is not compatible with all games, and some may experience issues like double input in menus or incorrect button functions.
